It is important that we all act responsibly when using energy as we
become more aware of the reasons to conserve it, including climate
change, fuel costs and shortage of supply. As a result, many of the
products we produce have a number of energy saving features.
Within this section features to look out for are:
- Thermostatic control to ensure the room temperature doesn’t fluctuate and cause over and under-heating, which increases energy usage
- Heat selection switches so the output of the heater can be reduced if require
- Building management system interfaces which allow all the heating to be operated by one system
- Compatibility with door sensors, external timers, infra red sensors and other controllers, all of which reduce energy wastage
- Radiant heaters which heat people not the room, so provide localised ‘spot’ heating within large warehouses or outdoors for example
- Dimplex air curtains can also offer a number of energy saving features over other manufacturers. For more information, see our Energy Saving Features or our Carbon Trust initial study.
