No, we do not advise the painting of our heaters.
Yes all of our towel rails are IPX4 Rated (Splash Proof) so suitable for use in the bathroom.
Towel rails are not generally designed to heat your bathroom, but to dry/warm towels and provide supplementary heating. Some of the larger sized models could heat a small bathroom, but this will depend on the loading of the product and the size of the room. If you are looking for full heating, then it would be preferable to select one of our bathroom radiators which are specifically designed for room heating. To find out what loading you would need to heat a bathroom, please refer to the Kitchens and Bathrooms section of the website.
It is not advisable to put more than a couple of towels on a towel rail at any one time, otherwise the air cannot circulate around the towels.
Yes, by using one of our optional energy regulators you can reduce the output and, therefore the surface temperature of the towel rail. Two energy regulators are available and the most suitable version will depend on the output of the towel rail. Please refer to the accessories tab in right hand menu of the product page for more details.
Yes, our BR range can be connected to a water central heating system.
All of our towel rails are designed for constant use. The 'S' range of towel warmers have a very low wattage, costing the same as a light bulb or two to run. The amount of energy used with other ranges will vary according to the wattage of the model chosen. Most models can be fitted with the Dimplex Energy regulator (DX4123) which is wall mounted outside the bathroom and works in a similar way to a light dimmer switch. It provides on/off and variable temperature control.
There are no internal moving parts so they require little if any maintenance.
The surface temperature varies according to the model of the towel rail, the ambient temperature and the number of towels on it. Chrome models also tend to have a slightly higher surface temperature than white models. However, all our towel rails are designed to BEAB safety and quality standards and all are in compliance with approval standards for surface temperature.
