Benefits of solar water heating

Solar water heating systems are one of the most cost effective and environmentally friendly renewable energy solutions available, using heat from the sun to work alongside your conventional water heating system. The technology is well developed with millions of systems installed throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

On average, every home spends 20-25% of its combined annual energy bills on water heating. With between 900 and 1200kWh of solar energy per m2 per year available in the UK, solar water heating can provide almost all of the hot water for a home COMPLETELY FREE during the summer months and on average around 60% year round.

Low carbon heating solution

Whenever fossil fuels such as gas or oil are burnt, carbon dioxide is released. CO2 is the principle contributor to the greenhouse effect which is leading to long term climate change.

Because solar water heating can provide as much as 60% of the buildings total water heating demand an average domestic system reduces C02 by around 350 - 400kg per year, (depending on the fuel replaced).
