Low Carbon Funding (phase 2)
Dimplex and Low Carbon Buildings Programme Phase 2
Phase 2 of the Low Carbon Buildings Programme (LCBP2) provides £50 million of capital grant funding for the installation of various microgeneration technologies – including ground source heat pumps – by organisations in the UK public and not-for-profit sectors, including:
- Local authorities
- Housing associations
- Schools, college and universities
- Hospitals
- Libraries
- Public service organisations
- Environmental trusts
- Registered charities
The scheme is managed by the BRE and is open to organisations in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
50% grant funding
Under the LCBP2 scheme, Dimplex heat pumps are eligible for grant funding of 50% of the supply and installation cost, including:
- Heat pump and associated equipment
- Ground collectors and all associated ground works
- Design, installation and commissioning
At the moment, the scheme is due to commit the bulk of its funding by June 2009
Fixed prices for peace of mind
In addition to the available grant funding Dimplex has committed to fixed product costs for each heat pump under the grant scheme, so every project will enjoy the benefit of overall economy of scale provided by LCBP2.
DECC appointed
The requirements of the grant are that the products and installation services must be sourced through DECC (Department of Energy and Climate Change – formally BERR) appointed Framework Suppliers. Dimplex is an appointed Framework Supplier for ground source heat pumps, meaning that selected Dimplex ground source heat pumps and their installation are subject to grants of 50% of the total installation cost.
Your Project
In the initial stages of the project, Dimplex will work closely with you to define and specify the most suitable solution for your application, including assistance with heat pump and ground collector sizing and specifications as well as initial budgetary costs.
All products and installation services will be provided through our
Approved Installer Partners. At the appropriate stage we will invite a
selected installer (or installers if you prefer) to become involved with
the detailed planning of the project and also to provide costed
quotations. Dimplex will also provide you with assistance through the
grant application process.
Approved Installation Partners
Heat pumps are one of the most efficient and economical heating systems
available provided the individual components of the system – the heat
source, the heat pump itself and the connected heating system – are
properly matched.
In order to ensure the highest levels of quality and to provide peace of
mind, Dimplex has an established network of Approved Heat Pump Installer
Partners, all accredited under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme
and fully trained and experienced in the installation, commissioning and
after sales support of Dimplex heat pump products. Our list of
installers has been approved by BRE as part of our Framework Agreement.
The Complete Solution
A key benefit of working with Dimplex is that together with our Approved Partners, we provide a complete ‘one-stop-shop’ solution, supplying not only heat pumps and ancillary equipment, but also:
- Technical consultancy and system specification
- Ground collectors sizing and array/borehole design
- Borehole drilling and ground collector installation
- System installation and commissioning
- Easy tie-in with existing contractual/supply chain relationships
- Full back-up and technical support
Your choice of Dimplex ground source heat pumps
Drawing as much as 75% of the energy needed by the heating system from freely available, inexhaustible solar energy stored in the ground, Dimplex ground source heat pumps are available in an extensive range of models types and capacities suitable for either domestic or commercial applications. Due to highly stable temperatures below the earth’s surface, ground source heat pumps provide high levels of efficiency for space and water heating all year round.
