Igniting imagination – Glen Dimplex launches state-of-the-art Flame Studio
Glen Dimplex Heating and Ventilation, the heating and ventilation specialist, has announced the launch of its Flame Studio in Shoreditch, London. The creatively crafted studio provides the ideal space for architects and designers to visualise the use of flame technology and includes a number of aspirational electric and gas flame installations, along with a virtual reality (VR) feature.
The VR installation, which is proving to be a key tool in helping designers and architects visualise blueprints and spaces in a realistic way. The technology, developed by Cityscape Digital, a multi-disciplinary creative studio based in Shoreditch, enables users to interact with the environment, which is critical in the design process.
Robert Elston, Cityscape Digital spokesperson explains: “The use of VR brings another dimension of interaction and functionality to businesses today, bringing value to projects regardless of industry.
“In the case of Glen Dimplex Heating and Ventilation, the use of VR within the Flame Studio gives users the opportunity to engage with the space, with the freedom to move around and visualise their designs. Ultimately this can help with enabling better decision making, and provides a cost-effective and relatively easy way of making changes according to the needs of the project, while still in the design stage.”
The Flame Studio is part of Glen Dimplex Heating and Ventilation’s long-term strategy to use innovative heating and ventilation technology to help the industry create inspiring and welcoming spaces for commercial projects.
Technologies on display include the Dimplex Opti-myst and Opti-V electric flame effects, which are already enabling designers to harness the experience of flame across commercial projects, in a safer and more environmentally responsible way. There are also aspirational gas fires by Faber, a premium European brand of frameless gas fires.
