Energy Performance Labelling: A Warm Welcome

A class heat pump

This month, from 26th September 2015, a new Energy Labelling directive comes into force that means manufacturers of energy related products, such as heat pumps, and some hot water storage tanks and electric water heaters, will need to provide detailed information about the energy performance of their products.

This is great news for homeowners as for the first time, they will be able to compare very quickly and easily the energy efficiency of these products – in much the same way we can already compare other household appliances, such as washing machines and refrigerators.

The information will appear on the product as an Energy Rating Label, while a more detailed report will be included within the product’s instruction manual. Dimplex will further highlight the energy efficiency class of our products on our website and in brochures and other literature so it will be easy to identify performance ratings when you’re at the research stage.

Prior to the directive, the majority of our heat pumps were already efficient enough to be A++ rated so we welcome the new directive as an opportunity to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to efficiency.

And if you’re interested in finding out more, why not read our simple guide on understanding the details on the label and how they are calculated.
