The System S heat pump system: The sustainable solution for intelligent heating of buildings

3 min read
Three output classes and three possible combinations: With its modern control and operating technology, the new System S heat pump system from Dimplex (Kulmbach) offers a particularly flexible solution for heating, cooling and hot water preparation for many applications in new builds and refurbishment projects.

The System S is a split air/water heat pump system with efficient inverter technology. It adapts intelligently to the building's actual heating, cooling and hot water requirements at all times. This makes it particularly efficient and powerful. Heating is possible with the System S family down to an outside temperature of -25°C. The environmentally friendly refrigerant R32 also improves the CO2 balance of the building and avoids annual leakage checks.

The outdoor unit impresses with its space-saving housing in the colour "dark grey". Maximum flow temperatures of up to 65°C and the integrated cooling function combined with surface heating/cooling systems and/or fan coils enable the efficient use of free environmental energy all year round. The System S is available in three output sizes for a wide range of building requirements: 6 kW, 10 kW and 14 kW.

Depending on needs and requirements, the outdoor unit can be combined with different indoor units:

A particularly compact, ready-to-connect hydraulic unit with a footprint of 60 x 60 cm contains all the necessary hydraulic components and a hot water cylinder (200 litres). This enables quick and easy installation in new builds and offers hot water convenience for up to 4 people. When using radiators or individual room control, the unit is supplemented by a buffer cylinder.

Alternatively, the Hydrauliktower is also available as a ready-to-connect hydraulic unit with a 300 litre hot water cylinder and 100 litre buffer cylinder for quick and easy installation in demanding new builds or for renovation projects with high hot water requirements and high comfort standards.

The variant with wall-mounted hydrobox is particularly flexible in use. In combination with individually selected or existing hydraulic components and hot water cylinders, this solution is ideal for properties where the fossil fuelled heat generator needs to be flexibly replaced or integrated.

Of particular interest is the SG-Ready functionality for increased utilisation of the heat pump in times of low electricity costs or for own electricity use, combined with a photovoltaic system. The Smart-RTC+ intelligent room temperature control system turns the building into an intelligent energy storage system.

It is operated via the integrated 4.3-inch colour display with the touch display mounted on the indoor unit. The heat pump can also be controlled online via the Dimplex Home app. The premium version of the app offers additional functions for installers with automatic notification of faults, graphical analysis of device data and fault assistance.

Conclusion: All in all, intelligent combination options are available for the modern supply of single and two-family homes, leaving almost nothing to be desired.
