Supporting Scotland’s Net Zero Future – In Collaboration with City of Glasgow College

Aligned with Government Goals
Dimplex shares the Scottish Government’s commitment to:
- Electrification of heat as a pathway to decarbonisation
- Eradicating fuel poverty through accessible, affordable solutions
- Developing skills to empower the workforce of the future
We also advocate for inclusive funding models that go beyond heat pumps, ensuring that all households — especially those in hard-to-heat homes — can benefit from clean heating technologies.

Collaborating for Skills & Standards
Our work with industry bodies such as the Electrical Distributors’ Association (EDA) and SELECT reflects our commitment to raising standards and supporting installers. Through CPD-accredited programmes, we’re helping professionals stay ahead of regulatory changes and best practices in low-carbon heating.

Delivering Real Impact
Dimplex technologies are already making a difference:
- Proven success in social housing projects
- Active involvement in schemes like Warmer Homes 2 (Warmworks)
- Development of systems tailored for hard-to-heat homes
- Investment in local skills to ensure long-term community benefit

Technology That Works for Everyone
We believe that electrification must be supported more effectively — particularly for Scotland’s most vulnerable households. Current funding often favours heat pumps, leaving behind those in properties where heat pumps are not viable. This creates a gap where the ‘able-to-pay’ benefit, while those in fuel poverty face limited options.
Dimplex is addressing this gap through a diverse electrification portfolio that includes:
- Quantum: High heat retention storage heating for reliable, low-cost warmth
- Edel: Air-source hot water heat pumps for efficient domestic hot water
- Zeroth: Low-temperature heat networks for multi-residential buildings
These technologies are already delivering carbon savings and reduced running costs in social housing — but broader support is needed. Schemes like ECO5 and VAT relief have either regressed or failed to recognise the full potential of electric heating solutions.

A Call for Inclusive Support
We urge policymakers and stakeholders to recognise and fund clean heating technologies that can replace fossil fuels — whether through electric heating, heat pumps, or heat networks. By matching technology with people, and investing in skills and systems, we can accelerate Scotland’s progress toward net zero while ensuring no one is left behind.
