All you need to serve up an ace Wimbledon party

on | 3 min read
Celebrate the Wimbledon final in style, from the comfort of your own home. Whether you love tennis, or just love an excuse to hold a party, we have some tips from centre court to ensure your celebrations are ace.
Keep cool with the DXMBC F Mont Blanc

Food

When you think of Wimbledon, you think of summer in Britain - so why not celebrate with some quintessentially English treats? You could hold an afternoon tea with plenty of strawberries and cream or even make tennis ball cake pops. If you want to go even more extravagant, then you can feature foods from all of the countries the tennis stars represent.

Drink

Spending a (hopefully) sunny afternoon watching tennis can get tiring, liven things up with an array of Pimms and Wimbledon themed drinks; offer guests a Murray Martini, Federer Fizz, or a Billie Jean Bellini and then Sharapova Smoothies for kids.

Decorations

Whether you choose to go all out, or keep it simple - you can still have a picture perfect party. Use fake grass with a ping pong net as a table runner, or simply fill vases with tennis balls and hang green paper lanterns around the house. Stick with a base of mainly green and white, and add colours from there. Why not feature union jack bunting or consider slicing a line in tennis balls and using them as place names? You could even cut the tops off them to serve tennis themed treat baskets.

Activities

Aside from the obvious activity of watching the tennis, have some activities set up - this will keep kids from getting bored and give you a break from the screen. Set up garden games like croquet and ring toss, or try your tennis skills with a swing ball if the sun is shining. For a more relaxed day, hold a tennis quiz and include fun questions like ‘how many hours would a Dimplex Optimyst run for if it was powered by the 320,000 glasses of Pimm’s drunk at Wimbledon each year?’ (P.S. you’ll find the answer- plus more quiz question ideas - on our Twitter feed. P.P.S. Please don’t put Pimm’s in your Optimyst fire!)

If you’re getting hot under the collar sat inside watching the tennis and sweltering in the heat, then don’t worry. We here at Dimplex have created the Mont Blanc: a slimline, modern cooling fan built with you in mind. It will slip into the background of your party, providing you with all the comfort you need to be able to enjoy the biggest match of the season.
